Source priorities
We prioritize standards bodies, developers/stewards, official OS/software documentation and project documentation. Third-party technical material is identified as reference material.
Six source categories
Sources are classified as standard, developer, software, platform, project or reference. PDF’s ISO specification and Acrobat’s instructions serve different purposes.
Scope of evidence
Each source section explains what a document supports. A vendor homepage alone is not evidence for a format specification.
Information can change
Links and support can change. Consult documentation for your actual version before important conversion, installation or deletion. We do not guarantee completeness of all information.
