  1. Open a copy in compatible VEGAS Pro.
  2. Relink missing media.
  3. Inspect preview and render settings.
Inspect the received file and its requirements

Establish dependencies and settings before proceeding.

  1. Check the producing VEGAS version.
  2. Obtain media, fonts and the FX inventory.
  3. Check resolution, frame rate and audio settings.

Menu labels and support vary by app, OS and version. Preserve the original before making changes.

Troubleshooting by symptom

  • Media offline: compare paths.
  • Newer-version warning: use a compatible version.
  • FX missing: inspect plug-in dependencies.
  • Cannot play as video: request a rendered output.

VEG → MP4 or other video

  1. Use Render As for the required range/format.
  2. Reopen the output and check it against the preservation points in this guide before handoff.

Rendered video cannot fully restore source tracks or edits.

Saving a project does not render video
