REAPER

Preserve the original and inspect a working copy in a compatible application.

  1. Open a copy through Open project.
  2. Inspect missing-media notices and tracks.
  3. Relink media and test a short range.
Inspect the received file and its requirements

Establish dependencies and settings before proceeding.

  1. Check producer version and OS.
  2. Gather recordings, samples and impulse responses.
  3. Inventory FX and external instruments.

Menu labels and support vary by app, OS and version. Preserve the original before making changes.

Troubleshooting by symptom

  • No audio: check media outside RPP.
  • Missing FX: compare plug-in version/format.
  • Different sound elsewhere: compare instruments/presets.
  • Silent track: inspect mute/routing.

RPP → WAV / stems

  1. Render the required range, channels and format.
  2. Reopen the output and check it against the preservation points in this guide before handoff.

A rendered mix cannot restore every track/FX setting.

Saving versus rendering

Check media-copy options in Save project as; plug-in redistribution rights are separate.
