CLIP STUDIO Multi-page File

Creative Projects

CMC manages a CLIP STUDIO PAINT multi-page project. Individual pages live in companion CLIP files; CMC alone is not the complete work. Preserve the management folder and change pages/order through the application’s page-management tools.

Opening steps

Choose your environment or purpose to see its steps.

CLIP STUDIO: open a multi-page work

Open a copy of the editable source.

  1. Identify producer/version and prepare a document copy with required companions.
  2. Open the CMC in an environment supporting page management.
  3. Inspect page count/order and the complete set of CLIP pages.
Add or reorder pages

Inspect editable information as well as appearance.

  1. Back up the complete management folder.
  2. Manage replacements/reordering through Page Manager rather than directly replacing files in Explorer.
  3. Inspect covers, spreads, body order and individual pages.
Export or transfer all pages

Retain editing source and rendered output.

  1. Choose an appropriate multi-page output for images, PDF or other delivery.
  2. Check page range, order, size and bleed.
  3. Verify every exported page/number; transfer the complete folder for editable migration.

Menu labels and support vary by app, OS and version. Preserve the original before making changes.

Troubleshooting by symptom

  • Missing pages: inspect companion CLIP files in the management folder.
  • Inconsistency after external replacement: preserve originals and use in-app page management.
  • No management tools: check EX features and saved version support.
  • Only CMC supplied: obtain the complete management folder with its CLIP pages.
  • Direct replacement breaks opening: inspect the backup and use Page Manager operations.
  • Too few output pages: compare selected range/cover settings against the original count.

Complete CMC project → PDF / page images

  1. Verify all pages/order and select the intended export range.
  2. Inspect output resolution, bleed, spreads and page count.
  3. Inspect export dimensions, color, transparency, text and cropping against the editable source.

Images/PDF do not replace editable CMC/CLIP assets; retain the folder.

CMC and its CLIP pages

CMC manages pages while individual artwork resides in CLIP files; keep/move the folder as one work.

The manual cautions against directly replacing management/page files; use Page Manager for changes.

Multi-page delivery checks

Compare count, cover, spreads, order and dimensions and check destination output for missing pages.

Transfer the folder for editing or rendered files for delivery; check recipient version and page-management support.

Questions and answers

Does one CMC contain every page?

No; companion page files are required.

May I fix order by renaming files?

Use the application’s page-management workflow.

Same as editing one CLIP?

Whole-project management differs from individual page editing.

Does renaming CMC to CLIP produce an image?

Management data and individual artwork differ; obtain both.

Do individual CLIP files restore page order?

Check management data and the original layout rather than assuming filename order.
